We have Gas

Normally that is something we would keep to ourselves, but it's not that kind of gas, it's natural gas, although I guess the other kind is natural also, anyway you know what I mean. Here is a picture of the fireplace with actual flames.
Here is our stovetop, with one of the burners on. It is so exciting to have all of our appliances in working order now.
I also finished the tiling last night, I am going to try and get the grouting done this weekend.

Last wall

I have just about completed the last wall, I came home from work and got right to work on it. I just have the area above the window left to do and then it's time to grout.

Calling it a night.

Well, I got a lot done, but I still have a little to go but I am beat. I got about 1/3 of the last wall done and if I work on it after work every night I should be grouting by the weekend.

Wall No. 2 complete

Tiling around the glass block was a bit tricky, but at least I am done with it I am getting really good at freehanding the tiles on the saw. I am taking a break and I am going to attempt wall No. 3.
I forgot to mention that we got the undercabinet lights permanently installed yesterday as well. Craig is working on putting the new BBQ together today, suprisingly I haven't heard much swearing, or at least not yet. I called the gas guys and they are coming out on Saturday to hook up the fireplace, stove and BBQ.

One wall tiled, whoo hoo!

I got the back wall tiled today, I will work on the other walls tomorrow. I used the tile cutter to cut the diamond shape for the smaller decorative tiles, the decorative tiles actually came in a long strip and I cut each of them into four smaller squares.
Here it is halfway done. I took a dinner break at this point. Craig worked on trim in the hallway all day.
Here it is finished, well except for the grout of course. I am finished for the night, I'm going to make a milkshake and watch a movie.

Fireplace

Craig got the fireplace finished while I was in Alabama. I just love it, we can now call the gas people to come back out and hook it and the stove top up. He also got all of the crown molding in and it looks so good. I am going to start on the tiling today, we have to finish up the undercabinet lights first, but Craig got that almost done as well while I was gone.

I got a working sink for Mother's Day!

We finally got our sink in. Craig worked all day yesterday getting the sink epoxy'd to the counter and sanded, it turned out sooooo nice. Today we got the counters siliconed in so we could get the sink plumbed and working. Here it is before we put in the fixtures.
Craig also brought the cabinet fronts back from work and installed them, they look so good with the finish on them, they almost have an iridescence to them.
Although I am not much of a plumber, I have to say that I am proud of my plumbing work, nothing leaks so far. The button in the picture below on the far left hand side of the sink is what turns our garbage disposal on and off, I had never put in a garbage disposal before, in fact I have never had a garbage disposal before, but I have to say that it was really not that hard, just awkward. We also have a soap dispenser, I love my sink!

Countertops, whoo hoo!

We had a slow start to the weekend because it decided to rain all day on Saturday, so after going down to Craig's work to pick up the countertops, we did a lot of sitting around waiting for the rain to stop so we could get something done, well that didn't happen on Saturday. So today was the big day, I mostly just watched and helped move material around, Craig did all the work.
The counters aren't really installed yet, just laying there, Craig needs to attach the sub top first and also he will put the sink in, it was back ordered and should be in tomorrow, I taped a template where the sink will go so we could get an idea of how it will look. We are getting so much closer, I can't wait for Craig to cook again.
